You can’t beat word-of-mouth sales leads! Referral sales come gift-wrapped in a recommendation and are usually ready to buy when you speak to them. How can you get more of these? Networking, of course. Strategic networking, specifically.
Strategy: Referral Networking
Adding strategy to your networking is the secret between getting a single sale (the apple) or a whole series of sales (the apple tree.) What is another business your clients use that does not compete with yours? Build a relationship based on TRUST with a representative of that business, and you get access to the apple tree. Educate your referral partner on your product and learn about theirs. Then keep your ears open for potential referral sales for them. You refer to them… they refer customers to you. You both win. It’s a simple idea that takes work and dedication but is worth the effort.
