To get maximum website traffic, only offer content that is what your audience wants. Try these methods to find out what is working best on your website.
Identify Visitors’ Interests
- Use Demographics and Interests. Monster Insights (and other resources) offer Demographics and Interests reports. Check out available reports to view the common interests of your audience. Then tailor your new content to these interests.
- Note Popular Categories. If you use categories and tags to identify your posts, what are the most popular ones? Create more along these lines.
- Popular Page Offshoots. Which pages get the most views and the longest views? Create similar content to cover more aspects of these topics.
- Note Exit Points. Where do people leave your site? Are they clicking on external links? Which of your links to other sites are getting clicks? See if you can embed this content so they don’t need to leave to see it or add more content to your site to serve this need.
- Repurpose Popular Content. Turn some popular items into downloadable white papers, presentations, spreadsheets, or infographics. They are a great traffic magnet.
- Use Google Suggest to Find High-Traffic Blog Posts. When you start a search in Google, it offers suggestions to finish your phrase. These are potential keywords and topics that Google is telling you are frequently requested. Use these terms in your content to boost organic rank.
- Look at Related Searches for More Ideas. Scroll down to any Google search page bottom to find a box with “related searches.” Use these as keywords or for new article ideas.
- Pull Ideas From Your Competitors. If they have a series of articles on a topic, you may want to put your spin on that topic for your readers.
